Almost Indigo

       For seventeen years, live a glum, calm, almost mad girl with spiritual things behind her back. People often called her a mad-eyes. Something that usual people could not see, she saw. Anything people did not know, she afraid of. For herself, it was a depracation while others thought it was miracle. She nestled her feet with tears and fear, lonely, and there was a threat she always thought of. She did not know how to spell. Fiend, darkness, empty or a box with crazyness.

                Kai Burgsbury, a friend of hers did not know and did not have a such things. Kai was almost sure that mad-eyes was fit to Diana. It was too long live in the darkness. Diana had been experienced of all the bad things in her life. The fact that she was too afraid to face the reality. Kai as smart one, help his hearted friend pass her hard time.

                One experience Diana felt and Kai was there. Diana was curious about what will happen in future if there was no eyes like hers in this world. She just tried to find herself in the darkness and appeal it to the light. Diana wanted to be alone. For a moment without anybody was right next to her. In the middle of the night, running and crying Diana with no shoes in her feet. She ran to the forest. She kept telling to herself, “This is the last for sure. Alright, I’m sure.”She’s crying. Alone, bringing no stuffs. She would like to know how to be free in immortality.

                In every ways, Diana tried to walk and close her eyes with the hands at the same time. She did not want to see anything she did not want to. Fiend, goblin, people’s future or whatever it was, she hated it. She was not afraid of death or losing, she was afraid of the things might happen to everyone around her. She missed her dad, sister, and Kai’s mother, Mrs. Elena. She saw everything behind their death. That feeling hurted Diana so deep. Diana comforted her heartbeat and ran as fast as she could.

                Diana did not see clearly. She still ran fast like before. She stumble the rock and fell. Her head was dizzy. Before unconscious, she saw many fireflies flew in front of her. While arresting her body to be strong, she saw a man stood between the trees. It was dark and quiet. Her body was unconscious suddenly.

                Awake in the morning. It was too early. She slept in the middle of the forest. She heard a broken small branch. She turned her head and shocked of seeing Kai was there. Her mind was full of questions but her body was unhealthy. So, she was keep sleeping and leaning of the tree. Kai approached Diana and brought some fruits. Diana took it but did not say a word. She still observed intently some falling leaves and Kai understood.

                Kai accompanied Diana to wash her hands in the river. Diana was still quiet. Kai tried to be patient and comforted his bestfriend beside. Diana held Kai’s hand and told that she felt pleasant of him. Diana tried to tell everything to Kai. Kai was listening well. He told Diana about everything since she left home and Kai followed her. Kai saw many worst things followed Diana in every steps. Kai tried to hide as could as possible. Kai trusted Diana that she could pass everything by herself. It was a reliance.

                In one part, Diana mentioned that she went to the forest to die. It meant that she won’t hear or see terrify part in her life anymore. She only want to be an usual girl in their village. Without difference, fear, and eyesight. It was like, she wanted to stick her eyes and live well. “Are you mad? Or going to be a person I did not know?” Kai thought that was impossible. Kai believed that everything will be alright if Diana accept it as miracle for herself. Kai understood if Diana was being afraid of everything. He loves Diana so much. The pain Diana felt was his. As long as Kai exist, he will always keep Diana save. “Alright, calm down, Dye. I’m here.”

                They walked for 3 hours and arrived in the farming area. Kai thought that they were misguided. He clutched Diana’s hand and comforted Diana by some songs. Kai was singing and still walked.

                They intended of visiting some farmers there and asking for direction. An old man accosted them. He waved his hand. Kai’s smile and approached the man. He asked for address. The man replied but he’s dumb. He replied by move his hands and made some gestures. “Eh-eh.. Eh.” Kai and Diana, each of them no one knew how to interpret it. The man appointed one of the way and smile. He continued his walking. “What about now?” Kai chuckled.

                Both of Diana and Kai tried to walk at the way which the man was appointed to. It almost four hours and evening but they still confused. They could not get home. They were exhausting and hungry. They went to a small barn and asked for some food there. The owner was kind and humble. She gave them two bottles of milk and some breads. “You’re so kind. May God bless you. Thank you.” Kai took them.

                They continued their walk and pass the walkway. They met some pedestrians. Suddenly, Diana hugged Kai. Diana trembled. Kai knew what was going on. He laid Diana’s head on his shoulder. Diana was whispering that she saw the death of two pedestrians in front of them. “One of them would die at this evening. Smashed by a white car. And the other because of the poison which he drank this morning.” Kai shocked! He close Diana’s eyes. “Forget it, Dye. This is bullshit.”

                Diana still trembled an hour later. Kai left her to ask some people around about the direction to come home. After Kai was back, he did not see Diana in the same place. He ran to find Diana. Kai was too worry about Diana’s condition. What will he do? No clue.

                Not take too long, Kai finally found Diana under the ash tree. Diana made a hole in land. Kai ran into her. He hugged Diana tightly. Diana kissed him. “You find me. I was looking for you. I was being afraid of losing someone I loved for twice.” She’s smile.

                Diana Miller. Kai’s bestfriend since they were little. Diana never knew about Kai’s feeling to her. Today, a kiss below the blue sky, Kai could understand that Diana loves him so much. They were young and their love was not small. It might be a hardest love for them, they realized it.

                Tomorrow morning they got home. Kai took Diana home. There were some scars at Diana’s barefeet. It caused of the sharp rock she walked on or something else. After made some conversation with Diana’s mother, Kai laid Diana to the bed and clean up her feet and put any antiseptic to against the infection. She should make some sleep while Kai was helping Mrs. Siphilia. Mrs. Siphilia asked Kai many question and Kai replied well. He did not want to let the problems get bigger. Mrs. Siphilia understood. Kai helped her to clean up their barn while waiting for Diana to awake.

                That day be a worst day for Kai and Mrs. Siphilia. They found Diana in the floor bleeding by knife. She killed herself. In her left hand written some words. “Thanks for the love.” That was exactly the words. Kai kissed Diana for the last time while holding the knife. “I will meet you there. Don’t be afraid. I’m already died of this. Wait me.” Kai kissed her again and again. They live in the different world but same love, feel happily in their one deepest heart.
